PostHeaderIcon Buying Engagement Rings – Engagement Ring Settings and Wedding Bands Must Complement

There is a trend these days for diamond engagement rings and wedding bands to match. They may have the same shoulder design, or some intricate metal word around the edges or whatever. And apart from looking great, matching wedding sets are guaranteed to fit closely alongside each other without rubbing. However, if you want unique engagement and wedding rings, then you will want to customize them, instead of choosing a ready made set. The thought that you put into shopping for this shows how much you care.

First you need to buy the engagement ring. When you look at different engagement settings, remember it is will be worn with a wedding band. Ask to see some which might go well with the setting you are looking at. As you put together various combinations, you will get an impression of the overall style, and an idea of whether that will particular combination will wow the woman you love!

Remember to think about what she will like and what will look good on her hand, rather than what you think is best though! If she has long fingers and loves chunky jewelry, she may also love a wide ring. But if has short fingers, a wide band may not look right on her hand, no matter how much you both love the design!

Find out what shape diamond she likes and whether she wants an engagement ring with a tall gemstone setting or shorter setting surrounded by smaller accenting diamonds. Taller settings are generally easy to team up with different wedding bands but can catch on clothing etc, which may not be suitable if she is a doctor or teacher.

You might find the ideal white gold mounting but with the wrong shape of diamond. You could ask the jeweler to switch the round diamond to your diamond preference. Take your time. You need to be certain you have selected the right engagement setting. Only then can you decide which wedding rings will complement the diamond and setting. A wide sitting diamond that overlaps will need to be teamed with a flat banded ring, or there will be a gap between the two rings. This will cause the rings to rub and knock against each other, damaging the softer metal ring, usually the wedding band.

The coloring and texture of the two bands need to look good together too. They do not need to match to look good together. You can have a plain yellow gold setting for the engagement ring and a band of diamonds for the wedding ring as long as the ring styles are complementary.

Be daring! Basically, you can put any engagement ring with any wedding ring as long as the overall look suits the personality and preferences of your future bride!

PostHeaderIcon Buying Diamond Rings – Right Hand Diamond Rings

For most women, the first diamond ring she will ever wear will be her engagement ring. And because of this, buying diamond rings has traditionally been done by men. And because men may even decide to propose with a ring that they have selected, a woman may not ever have had the chance to choose her own ring. Furthermore, some women choose not to get married, and those who do often do so at exactly the time when there are other commitments, such as a deposit for a home, furniture, babies and so on.

For all these reasons, a woman may never get the diamond she might wish for.

But this is certainly not the case when it comes to right hand diamond rings!

Right hand rings are one of the latest and most enduring new styles of jewelry to hit the market. They are unashamedly marketed to financially independent women, and epitomize success, self-assertiveness and non arrogant confidence. These women are typically upward of 35, have achieved their own style of success, and strong and confident in the way they lead their lives. They may be married, single, divorced or widowed; mothers or not; businesswomen, homemakers, explorers or whatever! But all of these women have the budget to buy, and want to choose a significant diamond ring that embodies who they are.

Also called cocktail rings and dress rings, right hand rings are designed completely differently from engagement rings. The gemstones are often smaller and they are usually set in swirls and elaborate cascades which completely cover the band. However, there is no rule for a right hand ring and it cannot contain too many diamonds either! Baguettes, princess and trillion are often used to highlight the different personality of these rings.

As with all the best engagement rings, the bands for these rings are always precious metals. Usually made from high grade white or yellow gold although platinum is also a popular choice.

These rings symbolize fun, strength in spirit and individuality. And they have also gained popularity because they give the opportunity to try out some of the other gemstones too. New gemstones seem to be entering the market nearly every month! And celebrities are increasingly wearing huge gemstone rings. Diamond accented right hand gemstone rings are the perfect way to enjoy gemstones, such as tanzanite, amethyst, peridot, aquamarine etc.

And they are beautiful. Right hand rings make the perfect gift for any strong spirited woman.
